Zufferey working on an indoor Flybot

Research scientists led by Jean-Christophe Zufferey are working on a project to build an ultra light indoor micro flyer aircraft designed like a housefly. By skillfully conceptualizing all the features of a fly like halteres, compound eyes and optic lobes they have developed such like characteristics in the form of high-resolution cameras, a laser range finder system for distance computing in their robot.



The best feature is its ability to fly like a fly which is achieved by using two tiny, low-resolution cameras on each wing and an onboard signal processing and control software.
