We aren’t quite sure what the designers have done to this iPod, but we certainly have a bad feeling about it. If we have to trust our eyesight, which (despite the long hours in front of the PC) is reasonably good, the WowPod giant-sized MP3 player seems to have passed through some kind of “melt, disfigure and reshape” machine. The end result – you need to get drunk to keep the image from shaking. We wish it was that simple!
What’s Innovative: It is unlike any shapeless gadget you have seen, ‘coz even the menu buttons and the display are distorted. We would like to believe this design is intentional, considering the fact that the edges are quite shapely (in contrast). A zany attempt, nevertheless.
Watch This: There is something about eccentricity that attracts even the most ashen-faced critic. The WowPod may not be entirely wow-evoking, but is quite a showstopper.
Designer: Russian media artists Aristarkh Chernyshev & Alexei Shulgin have a natural flair for the bizarre. And the WowPod drives home this point.
