To assist security, surveillance, medical applications, video enabled phones, webcams, toys and games TDC has unveiled its world’s smallest single-chip CMOS camera - OV6920 CameraChip - for UK shelves.

The OV6920 CameraChip measures just 1.4mm (1/18 inch) . Due to its small size, it enables microscopic camera modules to setup at a total size of mere 3.2-mm in diameter and is proficient to shoot by offering ample applications and cost savings in contrast with existing best-of-breed 1/7-inch CMOS and 1/12-inch CCD imagers.

The device is perfect to shoot at low resolution of 328×250. It is configurable for NTSC (320 x 240) composite signal output.

It can also adjust its color saturation, exposure and gain automatically but the best part is that the chip demands just 3.3V DC power supply and is suitable for numerous low-power applications, principally spy gears.
