You surely know that 2.5” HDDs are small, but how can one make 2.5” drive even smaller? Funny question? Well, Freecom is touting its ‘Mobile Drive XXS’ to be world’s smallest 2.5” USB-2 external hard drive, sounds funny,no? It also claims it to be 27 percent smaller than the previous smallest drive, impressive! It is available in 3 sizes of 160 GB, 250 GB and 320 GB. Prime factor for ‘Mobile Drive XXS’ being smaller than usual is the use of tight fitting rubber sleeves, that help in reducing size and also provide protection to the drive and makes it easier to grip it firmly. It utilizes USB technology to connect to PC and is also powered through that. XXS series is quite affordable as 160GB drive is available for just £44.99, 250GB for £59.99 and £79.99 for 320GB.

I have been thinking of buying an external HD for ever now. Yeah but never have been able to save enough.
45pounds seem fair enough for 160 GB what say?
It does look quite small. One would as easily chug this one along as a flash drive. And for all you know it is smaller than my current cell phone.
Well yea, but in case of memory devices I’d rather put my money on brands like segate/hitachi etc. WD and Hitachi’s got few affordable external HDDs, they may not be as small as this one but 2.5” HDD wont get much bulkier ;)
