World's First and Largest 2.5 Gigapixels Digital Picture
Anupam | Dec 17 2006

Do you think that having a 10 Megapixel digital camera is great...? Think again and think big.

This is a 2.5 Gigapixel digital picture that is the world’s first Gigapixel Digital Picture.

The picture has been taken from the top of a 100 feet tall University in Deft Netherlands. The original image was created by merging 600 individual pictures from taken by 4 Gigapixel cameras.

The result was a 7.5 GB image and the whole merging process took 75 minutes to complete.

Are you sure 4 Gigapixel cameras were used instead of regular 4 Megapixel cameras as it doesn’t make much sense to me.

Thanks.

Thanks Char1320 for the comment but I am very sure that 4 Gigapixel cameras were used and not Megapixel as using Megapixel cameras is common the thing that made this picture on our blog is that the photo was clicked using Gigapixel cameras and not megapixel cameras. That’s why the picture is the largest in the world
