I have time and again mentioned that thickness is the benchmark of superiority when we talk about displays, be it, LCD Panels, Plasma Screens or the LEDs for that matter. Carrying the same belief forward, the world’s thinnest LCD Panels in the 42 and the 47-inch 1080p category have been developed by LG Display, using the edge-lit LED backlights. It is not just the minimalistic thickness at 5.9mm; even the weight is impressive as they just weigh 6.1kg and 7.3kg respectively. LG Display also had room for the Light Guide Sheet Technology in these groundbreaking LCD TV Panels.
There is an obvious increase in the NTSC color scale which rises from 72 to 80%. Another amazing feature is the Motion Picture Response Time of 8 minutes. The green minded would be pleased to know that the advent of technology associated to such inventions is advocating the use of minimum energy.
