With ‘Silicon Touch,’ the visually impaired scroll through the iPhone
Bharat | Dec 1 2008

Not many concepts are designed keeping the unfortunate in mind. Bruno Fosi has, however, designed the “Silicon Touch,” a casing for the iPhone, which lets the visually impaired have some scrolling fun with the phone’s touch-sensitive interface.

The casing has a series of modified bas-relief buttons engraved on it and it fits perfectly atop the iPhone, gelling well with its apps, allowing the user to proficiently use the multi-touch scrolling, text to speech and the tactile feedback, which the iPhone lacked for the visually impaired until now. The user has to compromise on none of the features of the iPhone, all that’s required to make the casing compatible is to install a special application and organize the case to the iPhone’s feasts.
