Alpheus | Sep 27 2008

There has been quite a buzz in the humanoid development circles. The latest is a Japanese launch called Robovie-X Lite for homes. The robot comes with a wireless controller and is equipped with 13 servo motors for the wide variety of actions it performs. The Robovie-X is a biped that can ape human actions like back flips, leg stretches and somersaults.

Pricing and Availability: The Robovie-X Lite is apparently available only in Japan for now. It retails for about $950.

Watch This: Humanoids are cute, entertaining and undoubtedly the best thing to have happened in the field of robotics. The Robovie-X Lite may not be the most intelligent humanoid around, but it certainly would make a great home companion. Watch the video after the jump to learn what tricks this robot has up its sleeve.

Word around the Web:

Adnana from Gizmosinsight says:

Robovie-X seems to bring robotics right inside our homes from the industrial workshops.
