Virtual Females getting Electric Shocks for Research
Anupam | Dec 30 2006

Back in the 1960s a researcher named Stanley Milgram was conducting an experiment in which the volunteers were told to deliver electric shocks to another person as a punishment for incorrect answers. The other person was not actually receiving the shocks but the volunteers were made to think that they are when the person receiving the shocks was made to shout in pain.

This experiment was conducted to study human behavior as some volunteers then increased the voltage even after seeing that the person is in pain.

After more than four decades of this actual experiment a researcher named Mel Slater of the Catalan Polytechnic University is again interested in the study. But unlike the earlier one he is not using any humans for the study.

He has developed a virtual female and is asking volunteers to deliver electric shocks to her as a punishment for wrong answers. Every one knows that this is not reality. But according to Slater some parts of the brain do not know what is virtual reality and it reacts as if the shocks are being given to a human when thee virtual female shouts and shows discomfort.

Still during the research some of the volunteers increased the voltage to the lethal mark...!

I am really sorry for the female...! Is there any one who can save this Zero and one female...?
