This seems to be extracted out of the mad scientist’s lab. Besides the regular Kings, Queens and Pawns, we’ve seen those Star Wars chess sets too, they have been attractive, but none of them have been as intriguing as this. A “Chess Set for Tesla,” made in 32 old vacuum tubes by artist Paul Fryer, it is a peculiar layout for a game of chess. The player has to unplug the tube from one square to plug it into the square to which the move is intended. Each tube bears an icon on top showing which piece it is, so the player knows what he is moving and when. 7 units of this magnificent chess set were produced last year, but we think it has more potential and should be mass produced.
