Update: New Sony Vaio UX Micro PC is true and so is the AR Blu-ray laptop

The sand has finally been wiped off the rumored Sony Vaio UX Micro PC and it is now official. No, it’s not a UMPC, rather it’s an ultra-portable PC powered by an Intel Core Solo Ultra Low Voltage CPU and Microsoft XP Professional.

Sony Vaio UX Micro PC weighs just over a pound and lures you with a cool sliding 4.5-inch wide SVGA screen with 800 x 600 resolution embellished with XBRITE™ technology and stylus input. The hidden keyboard is not bad either; it seems more comfortable and accessible than the UMPCs thronging the market. It also comes packed with Bluetooth, WiFi, WWAN (EDGE) and a fingerprint reader. There are two in-built cameras allowing impeccable video conferencing and snapshots. You can grab it in July for around $1800.

Sony doesn’t stops here, it has also launched the latest Vaio AR series of 17-inch laptops with Blu-ray drive. The fun-packed notebooks come with 256MB GeForce Go 7600GT graphics card and Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition. You can grab the Blu-ray drive version for $3500 and one sans it for just $1800 this summer.
