If all goes well, we may soon have room-sized 3D immaterial displays that will improve the way we think of modern entertainment. Researchers at the University of California have come up with their depth-fused 3D (DFD) display and that uses two FogScreens and has course projectors. It also has a tracking system and a 3D effect. With the latest DFD display, users need not wear 3D glasses, and the images can be seen from anywhere. The 3D effect that results from this technology is remarkable, and it uses factors such as occlusion, projection bleed-through, projector-camera calibration errors and dynamic scenes. This would actually help in many presentations and product launches.
