U Met GPS Enabled Helmet from Japan
Atul | May 14 2009

When I first realized what a helmet was supposed was to do, it was merely a product developed to offer protection. The world has definitely evolved from then-as we talk about the Japanese NEC developed U-met helmet that comes with embedded GPS devices. It also has a microphone and the messages can be transmitted using the 3G services. With all that on offer, NEC couldn’t have missed out on a camera and they obviously didn’t. Taking into consideration the technology on offer one can hardly think of a better helmet than the U-met. I am not saying that that we would see these helmets on road, but yes, at least the firefighters and the security personnel would have a great time with these chic head coverings on.
