I remember my grandpa wear a kinetic watch that worked with motion of the hand. Now, Sony has come up with a digital camera, that doesn’t need batteries or to be charged up. All it needs is to be wheeled for about 15 minutes to generate enough energy to take a snap.
Looks like a toy pizza cutter, the battery-less digital camera rightly called ‘Twirl N’ Take’, is something which you can pack with your child’s picnic basket. This hand-powered camera has a power-generating device inside it, which generates and saves the energy created. It doesn’t have a screen or monitor, and to view the picture you have to connect it to a computer.
This new comer in the family of Sony’s hand-powered gadgets will have to wait for being launched commercially. It belong to the family of two other cameras called ‘Crank N’ Capture’ and ‘Spin N’ Snap’, one has a lever that needs to be cranked and the othre has to be spun with a finger to be charged.
How they would attract customers who loathe even the slightest of work, then be it moving the finger tips only. But it will be something, which will come handy when you run short of your battery-powered devices. It might as well be a favorite among the environmentalists for the cause of saving energy.
