Toshiba promotes green with its re-writable printer

Now, this is what I will call ‘Innovation of the day’. Toshiba has developed a printer dubbed Toshiba B-SX8R that has the ability to use the same paper again and again up to 500 times. Hats off to you Toshiba! I didn’t know that Toshiba is so conscious about environment and recycling of waste paper. Whatever you call it, an environment-friendly move or a business strategy. I simply value it.

Let me tell you that the special glossy paper used in this process comes at a stocky price. Anyway, the B-SX8R is a re-writable printer that makes use of thermal technology. Once the paper has been used for printing, it can be again put in the hopper to erase the ink. Moreover, the printer can print out 12 pages per minute. Let’s not talk about those future printers that will spew out thousands pages per minute.

For now, the Toshiba B-SX8R is available for sale in Japan for £5,000 and the special paper will cost £5 per sheet.
