In a world of where truthfulness is at a premium, a game of cops and robbers unfolds and plays itself out in different dimensions and to different degrees. I don’t mean to be cryptic but it’s just that we have to accept the fact that people lie, and it is an effort to find the truth in someone’s deceit. The infrared lie detector is one such innovation that will, hopefully, end this cyclic game that has been in constant motion ever since the dawn of civilization. Since polygraph tests are not reliable, scientists have devised a new way to bring culprits to book, using recent developments in neuroscience.
The lie-detector contraption consists of a headband that is strapped to the subject’s forehead, designed to emit infrared rays through the scalp and into the brain. The infrared rays are then reflected back and are captured to provide a reading of the amount of oxygen flowing through the brain of the subject in question. The greater the reading, the higher the chances that the subject is lying.

My thoughts on this are that the technology used in this situation is rather simple, easy to use, has produced better test results and is much more economical than other methods used in the past. Although, it is still in the development phase, it has shown more promise in terms of usage, cost and the logistics involved, so it seems to be a worthwhile investment.
Word around the web:
Emily Saarman from Physorg says:
At first, the technology will likely be used only at the request of a person who wishes to bolster his or her credibility with a clean lie detection test.

Indeed a great device for detecting lie. Culprits cannot escape for sure with devices like this one coming rampantly now.
