The gift of sight is the most ultimate one can that be conferred upon a blind being. It would be a great feeling for a blind individual who would perceive it as freedom from darkness. Until now, the bionic eye dream remains a dream but with the development of a specially curved lens (which can potentially reproduce human vision), the dream has started turning into a reality. This special lens has a curved detection surface that does away with the defect of blurred corners with normal lenses. Currently restricted to rendering higher quality photographs and videos the lens could impart vision to human beings if the researchers succeed in developing a system whereby the lens would be connected to the human body as a functional tool. The creation of the breakthrough lens came upon when the researchers managed to break the tender electronic imaging substance (silicon pixel concentrate) thus creating a hemispherical membrane.
