Tesla coils and plasma used for speakers: New media?
Alpheus | Sep 15 2008

The speakers use twin solid state Tesla coils and the fourth state non-solid plasma to play music. This is a radical deviation from the speaker systems that we have always identified with.

What’s Innovative: These Tesla coils and plasma speakers generate music when the coils create compression waves in the air. The Tesla coils are connected to MIDI channels and also to a computer with the help of a fiber optic link. In short, we have a new medium to experience music.

Watch This: Creating a new medium for sound is no mean achievement. This concept is truly gobsmacking. Watch the video after the jump for a demo.
