Students create 20k-Watt snow speakers
Anupam | Feb 13 2007

Some students at the Michigan Technological University have created speakers that have been amplified to 20,000-watts.

The system was developed for the statewide snow sculpture competition. The arrangement is powered by 9 Behringer EP2500’s and 1 Crown XLS602.

Making such an impressive system was itself an art. But still the team added non-snow speakers to the setup, which automatically disqualified them from the competition. I think that the students did not want to sacrifice the great quality and loudness of sound for the award.

Check out some more pictures after the jump.
