Steampunked USB drive: From Russia again, with love
Vineet Chauhan | Aug 7 2009

Modding - it is the current in-thing that everyone seems to be doing, then posting it on the internet to fetch them some footage. A Russian modder has modified his mini USB drive into a steampunkified version. These Russians have nothing more to do these days, I guess, than just building a steampunk USB drive, because, the other day I stumbled across an article about a Russian making the same thing.

Anyway, this guy had to take the pain of going to a local rag fair to get the archaic clock and electronic parts (had his mom asked him to go someplace for a chore, he would have yelled back at her). The USB connector rolls out (of the brass pipe), by twisting the outer gear. This steampunk creation also has some moving parts, so you can play with it when you are doing nothing. If you want to build one for yourself then go to EnglishRussia.com. Pictures after the break.
