What if one fine day you get this urge to go and visit space...how will you go? Well, a group from Bremerton, Washington is trying to make things easier for you. They are attempting to make a space elevator which would not only land us on space but would also cut down on cost for space travel thus opening the space for the masses.
This company called LiftPort intends to construct the elevator over 100,000 kms into the space from an oceanic floor. But it doesn’t seem all that easy as the space elevator needs to remain straight and upright hence centrifugal force is required to counter the gravity pull else it would collapse.
Moreover, such a long space elevator would be exposed to some basic hazards of space amongst which meteoroids and micrometeorites can collide with it causing heavy destruction.
Lastly, there has to be a zone free from atmospheric interference for a viable construction of space elevator. Therefore space hurricanes would be hazardous for its survival as well.
Although the concept of space elevator is very revolutionizing and it would be the safest way to transport objects from earth to space but the idea actually turning into a reality still seems to be far fetched.

What in the name of Great Googly Moogly is a space hurricane? If you mean a normal regular terrestrial hurricane simply do what we plan on doing - park the thing on the equator.
If you mean ’weather’ then we think we have a handle on that. 400 miles west of South America, spang on the equator is a large region noted for it’s calm weather and absence of lighting.
the idea actually turning into a reality still seems to be far fetched.
I’m sure it does - but poke a bit deeper into the idea than the review you linked and you might change your mind. Or not - but you’ll be better informed.
