Space-based Solar Power : Possibly, within a decade
Desh | Feb 21 2009

Space Energy, Inc. looks at space-based solar power (SBSP) as a viable solution to the energy crisis the whole world is facing today. Although the idea may seem to be fanciful, it’s perfectly feasible to count on the mechanics associated. Collecting energy from the sun, forming a low intensity microwave beam, collecting it through rectennas and finally, generating electricity is what they’re eyeing on. If everything goes right and they successfully launch a small prototype satellite into low Earth orbit, Space Energy will be able to produce SBSP within a decade. If it ever happens, it’ll be the world’s first SBSP enterprise and would be heady enough to script a new tale of human invention, intervention rather.

wow, this will make electricity much cheaper than ever, but can they do it lesser than 10 years? it will really help rising countries having problem w/ energy.

This is a cool news. it will really benefit a lot of countries if they will have this implemented asap.

Wow great system, hope it will come true.
