As part of its new retailing approach dubbed as ‘Sony Access’, which aims to boost its sales and brand name, Sony Electronics has joined hands with Zoom Systems to launch its vending kiosks in Atlanta’s Mall of Georgia, Flatirons Mall in Boulder, Colorado, and the Santa Rosa Mall in Santa Rosa, California. More kiosks will be set up in other cities soon.

The Sony vending kiosks will sell multiple formats of Sony recordable media, headphones, Walkman MP3 players and CD players, batteries, Sony Pictures DVD and UMD videos, Sony digital cameras, Sony music CDs, Vaio PC accessories and PlayStation games and PSP players.

The hi-tech machines will accommodate around 50 SKUs and 15-inch touch panel. Sony will track product movement with the help of sensors and internet connectivity.
