Smart Design: Squad Fire-fighter Positioning System from Roy Hareguina
Atul | Jun 12 2009

Positioning systems are everywhere, which means leaving the fire-department secluded makes no sense. Since their trucks are not integrated with Sat-Nav devices, a smart brain has thought of a device called the Squad Fire-fighter Positioning System that would furnish a mini-map in a jiffy and make the department more tech savvy. You would have guessed by now that it is mere design far from reality, but the thought is very novel. This is thanks to Roy Hareguina, a University of New South Wales student whose design could make the fire-fighters more potent in the future.

The problem is that the design craves for a sonar that would quickly scan the building and render the map to the crew to have a precise idea of the location before putting the fire out. This sonar would also provide the environment and location of each of the team members.
