Scientists build wearable dialysis machine for round the clock diagnosis
Bharat | Aug 24 2009

Dialysis is perhaps the best and the only way to treat renal failure. Because dialysis machines are difficult to carry out of hospitals, patients have to frequently visit hospitals for treatment. To make the entire process convenient for patients, scientists, in a medical breakthrough, have developed a kidney dialysis machine that is small enough to facilitate patients with the treatment whenever and where ever, because it can be worn around the waist as a belt. Made with an objective to provide precise dialysis treatment, the device described as “small and light enough to be wearable” is battery-powered and is just a 10lb machine. Being efficiently tested by patients requiring dialysis, we see a bright future for regular dialysis for people needing the treatment.
