Samsung engineers LCD screen from ordinary glass!
Er. | Nov 1 2007

This Wednesday, South Korean Samsung Electronics Co. has publicized something that their rivals were afraid of already! The company researcher boasted of designing a liquid crystal display (LCD) screen incorporating an ordinary glass plate; does that mean we are looking forward to a much cheaper LCD-world ahead?

This Soda-Lime thin film transistor, TFT, LCD screen can bestow you with SXGA-level resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and off-course giving you all those contemporary LCD feature options too!

At present, the ordinary glass is not used because of some industry limitations and shortcomings (ordinary glass melts at temperatures higher than 300 Celsius degrees causing undesirable chemical reactions) regarding the same, but Samsung clarified that this hottest LCD is based on the normal glass plate.

Samsung would now develop LCDs at temperatures lower than 300 Celsius degrees, thus giving shape to a completely new world of LCD-enhancement possibilities!
