Robo-cat Missy, the first cat with an artificial knee joint
Bharat | Jan 25 2010

Run over by a car, Missy was close to death before a miraculous surgery and an artificial knee transplant saved her. The Robo-cat Missy has a specially made metal joint implanted in her hind leg. Designed by Dr Fitzpatrick, Professor Gordon Blunn and Mr Jay Meswania of OrthoFitz Implants, the artificial knee joint is 3-inches long made of stainless steel in two separate parts linked together forming a hinged mechanism to avoid any further dislocation in the knee and live to range of motion of Missy’s knee joint.
