A glove-set with a built-in heating system? Now, that raises obvious questions about its practicality, doesn’t it? After all, a heating system can make the gloves heavy, beating the purpose they were built for. Not really! Outdoor Research has developed a glove set that incorporates an ingenious heating system to keep the user’s hands warm as long as desired. Aevex, as the heating system is called, comprises a wrist battery and a thin polymer film. When the hands are cold, the temperature of the film is also lowered, thereby raising its electrical conductivity. As a result, energy from the battery is transferred to the film and subsequently to the hands, thus stabilizing the temperature.
Pricing & Availability: The PrimoVolta gloves carry a price tag of $250 and are available from Outdoor Research.
Watch This: We love these gloves for the fact that the laws of physics are applied in the most innovative manner possible. Apparently, when the hands are warm, the conductivity of the film also reduces, thereby cutting off the energy supply. The battery, thus, lasts long and you stay warm all the time. We couldn’t have asked for anything simpler.

They will not be cheap. But they promise innovation in a category filled with many failures.
