Playing pinball using your brainwaves
Atul | Jun 10 2009

It was just the other day we admired the magical gloves that controlled the rotation of the Tetrads in the game Tetris, thanks to the embedded accelerometers. Today, it is pinball that can be played using an elastic cap affixed with electrodes. The machine was built by a group of researchers at the Technische Universität Berlin and requires users to think about moving their arms. It hardly takes half an hour for the user to get acclimatised to the game without the use of arms. This system stakes its claim as the fastest (although we beg to differ) with the lags falling between 600 millisecond and one second range. Other uses of this technology include adaptability to home applications for disabled people.
