Anything slim and slender easily squeezes in to make it to the top headlines without fuss. Being the most tested selling mantra in this day and age, the title of the “slimmest” can do wonders for even the best-selling products. Such is the case with the latest Olympus Stylus 1040. Crowned as the “Slimmest Stylus Camera Ever” by the company, this chic camera is a must-have for all those seeking to capture moments in style. Featuring a new streamlined body with a lens-protecting faceplate, it slims down to 0.65 inches only. However, this skinny 1040 does pack in much more than you might expect from its form.
Boasting of a wide 2.7-inch LCD display, it also has room for 48MB of internal memory and xD-Picture Card storage slot. Sporting a 10.1 megapixel sensor and a 3x optical zoom with a 38mm wide-angle, its sliding front offers 12 shooting modes that include an Intelligent Auto setting and an in-camera panorama function. Peep in for other specs like Program Auto mode, Perfect Fix in-camera editing, Multi-face face detection, Shadow Adjustment Technology, Smile Shot, and Perfect Shot Preview. It flaunts a compatible spirit with NTSC/PAL video output connectivity and USB 2.0. Looking elegant in a black and silver combi, it can be juiced up with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. This slimmest Olympus dares to hit the US shores by October 2008 for $200 only.
You are so right when you say ”the title of the “slimmest” can do wonders”. I have many friends who have bought their camera’s just because they are slim and can easily fit in their shirt pockets... easy to carry along. I am sure they would love 1040. It also seems have quite good features, thou I would like a little more zoom in it.
