Taking LCDs technology up another notch, HP’s new display apparently is offering an earth-shattering 1 billion colors. Named DreamColor, the LED-backlit display was created in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc., in response to the need for affordable and consistent color accuracy in critical fields like animation, game development, broadcast, product design, film/video post, and graphic arts. Aimed at professionals, the $3,499 display offers 64 times the colors available on most leading LCD displays at the moment with deeper reds, blues and greens, upto four times darker blacks and adjustable whites.
