New Handwriting recognition software for iPhone
Sameer Kumar | Apr 17 2008

Apparently a Chinese guy decided that the iPhone could do with a handwriting recognition software and so went out and made one himself. This guy may not have made a perfect copy or even a useful one, but it could be the first step to something substantial in future. I do not use the iPhone, but I do use a Moto Rokr E6 that also uses a handwriting recognition software as well as a keypad. Barring the instances when I am trying to have a bit of fun or allowing someone to have fun with my phone, I really never ever use the handwriting mode. So it will be interesting to see if this works.

Similar to Graffiti, the classic writing software for Palms, you can setup HWPen from Installer.app to give you a writing area that can take over the standard keyboard at the touch of button. It’s a 1.0 beta version, but it works. You can download HWPen today using Installer.app. One sure hopes that it starts something new and exciting as all the current software that use handwriting recognition are a bit too slow to work with and are not that great. Let us hope that this kick starts something new.
