Actually, the fact is, you haven’t seen anything yet; it’s just a tip of the iceberg. But with the introduction of the UMPC concept, we can imagine how far things will go from here, especially when more players are slowly entering into the ring. Averatec is one of them, ready to roll out its new ultra-mobile PC concept this autumn.

The 700g Windows XP Home Edition-based AHI measures just 18.6 x 9 x 3.3 cm and is run by an Intel Celeron M ultra-low voltage processor. The handheld features a 5in, 1,280 x 1,204 touch-sensitive screen that sleekly covers a keyboard.

Averatec confirmed that the AHI will come with 512MB of memory along with a 30GB hard drive, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi - Bluetooth is optional - 10/100Mbps Ethernet, 56Kbps modem and integrated 3G mobile phone connectivity.

Averatec has managed to squeeze in a two megapixel digital camera too along with a GPS receiver for satellite navigation. AHI will be launched in black and silver and will be priced somewhere between $606 and $1,091.
