Besides two failed missions in past, they have been eying Mars for exploration endlessly. Amid recent developments, taking a step further, NASA’s Phoenix Mars Lander is all set to write a new script of human intervention into the space. The purpose being examining the soil and buried ice of the planet, providing some clues regarding the presence of microbial life, weather conditions, and the climate cycles. As stated by Peter Smith, the leader of the Phoenix mission, lander would kiss the ground on May 25, 2008. This plunge into the red planet is reported to be over in three months. Phoenix, moving at a top speed of 13,000 mph, will make inroads to the Martian atmosphere; there is a great information that says that the lander would confirm its landing at 7:53 p.m. EDT. Clearly, the world is not enough; for NASA and its researchers, certainly not. Have a look at the video after the jump, if you have any doubts over this.
