Mulitmedia PC built from a mix of old and new
Harshpaul | Dec 19 2008

Everyone needs high performance from their computer, and if your computer can’t even manage to do things you love to do best, it’s time for an upgrade. Joel Durham’s sister Robin spent a lot of time on Photoshop CS3, but her computer wasn’t quite able to handle the application, resulting in long waiting times. In his own ExtremeTech style, Joel built her a new multimedia PC using a mix of old and new components.

The PC runs on Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit with Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 processor, 4 GB RAM, a whopping 640 GB HDD, and an AMD ATI Radeon HD 4850 Graphics card. With all that stuff gone into the computer, Robin won’t have trouble with Photoshop CS3 ever again.
