Motorola set to give you electric shocks via its new silent alert system
Vikas Shekhawat | Apr 21 2006

I know, most of us would say, “No, we’re happy with the ubiquitous irritating tunes and the tedious vibrating system.” Isn’t it? But, believe me, Motorola will not roll you down with its electric shocks. The company has just received a patent for a completely silent way of alerting users to incoming calls and messages using mild electric shock.

The mild shocks will be transferred via electrodes, embedded in a small pad, that are wirelessly linked to a handset. The wearer will be alerted via electric potential created as soon as there’s an incoming call or a message on the phone. There’re no moving parts in the system and hence is completely silent. Users will have an option to set power levels and frequencies in order to identify callers.
