Mitsubishi MMR25 concept car is 'the future' of racing

An 8×4 wheel drive, “oblique aerodynamics” that prevents sideways drift, an electric motor that gives 1000 race-miles on a single charge and nano fiber Lithium batteries – definitely we are not talking about now! The MMR25 is designed for the future, the year 2025 to be precise. And it would be no commuter car with package features. It will be a race car that will put to shame the technologies applied in the most sophisticated race cars of today. The wheels of the MMR25 will be driven by four super-powerful and ultra-efficient motors, which are assisted by another set of eight motors. The vehicle leverages this unique design to stay unidirectional at all times, since each motor independently controls a wheel hub to ensure that the vehicle doesn’t drift.

What’s Innovative: The batteries, located strategically for stability and low center of gravity, are fabricated with uniform composite Nano fiber to address weight and durability issues. The driver sits inside a “windowless pod” where he can view images from external cameras on a 360-degree screen. Specially designed spoilers further add to the supreme aerodynamic nature of this vehicle.

Watch This: The year 2025 is just a decade and a half away. And considering the rapid pace at which race cars are being modified to offer the best race-friendly features, the MMR25 is an expected outcome. Yet, we would love to see how this design is further spruced up to take motoring to a whole new level.

Designer: The MMR25 has been conceptualized by Mitsubishi Motors.
