Eureka Aerospace that specializes in harnessing microwave and RF technologies, tested a prototype device that uses microwave energy that is harmless to humans, but extremely dangerous to vehicles electrical system. Any electrical part such as headlights, tail lights, lug nuts, frame bolts, or windshield antenna will conduct the energy to central microprocessor of car and fry it within seconds.
The 200 pound prototype is about 5 feet long, 3 feet wide and produces microwave radiations at 300 Ghz after it’s generated and amplified by generators. Pulse lasting just 50 nanoseconds is capable of jamming a car instantly at its current position.
James Tatoian, CEO of Eureka Aerospace in Pasadena, Calif, explains the purpose in following words:
The idea is to warn an automobile some distance away from a high-value target like a military barrack or a communication center. If they don’t comply, you just zap them and it prevents them from coming closer.
Further, the inventor is trying to reduce the weight and size of the device to that of a TV, so that transportation becomes easier to places such as flat highways at Southern California, where car chases are common for police officials. Simply, it’s the time for criminals to make protective armament for the vulnerable parts of their car.
