Microsoft's iPod killer to strike in October?
Vikas Shekhawat | Jul 23 2006

After Microsoft’s confirmation that the company is working on the ‘Zune’ portable digital music player, we all can clearly feel the ripples generated in the MP3 player market. However, when these ripples will make their final strike and whether these would ever change into gigantic waves, sweeping everything along with it is still to see.

Nevertheless, one thing is sure, Apple gonna face some scorching heat and it too seems to be armed with its secret full-screen video iPod, of which till date we all are oblivious of.

According to the latest media rumors, Microsoft’s Zune MP3 player would hit as early as October this year and that too with many models. The Wi-Fi compatible Zune will directly face Apple’s iPod Nano, tighten your seat belts!

I recently tried to contact Apple regarding a simple question having to do with iTunes compatibility with a 64-bit operating system, which I need, due to its ability to handle large amounts of system RAM. After a half hour of clicking links in the Apple support websites, I have determined that there is no place to email a question regarding iTunes! iTunes (latest version) will not install on a 64-bit Windows O/S. There may be a few iPods and accessories for sale in October.
