Mannetron anthropomorphic teleoperated interactive robot 'Max'
Madan | Nov 23 2007

Among the flooding robotic technologies from around the world, which offer to perform different humanistic movements and conversation, Mannetron mechanized Max robot seems to be busy in participating in various intercontinental shows. Always center of attraction, max is an anthropomorphic teleoperated robot, that functions on commands via RC technology. As it travels a lot across US, Europe and Middle East Asia, the makers chose brass, aluminum, nylon, and stainless steel for the whole body structure. Body shell is Polyester reinforced by fiberglass and holds head mounted mini hi-res color camera along with CCTV cameras and monitors for two angles view. Thus, facilitates an easier interaction and observation during a show.

What makes it more surprisingly unique is the robots multilingual facet, that helps it interact and responds to people around the world in their respective languages. However, all this drama originates from a sensor-suited human operator, hidden from view. The Mannetron’s Syncon control system holds the button every time to create an orchestrated animation simulating a living creature.

Both, the control room as well as the robot require 30 amps of power running on 110 VAC at 50-60 Hz.

Max holds the attribution of human character and behavior to such an extent that arouse sense of humor and a genuine interaction via human operator, translated by a Roland Voice processor in robotic voice. There so much in this unique one, but instead of words have a look at the presentation during the Ford show in a video below to know it better.
