Naomi Campbell, Emma Beam, Anna Pichler, Adriana Lima and likes might well have to look ahead of modeling as careers, as Hyogo Prefectural Institute of Technology have recently offered a fashion model - humanoid robot named Manekin Robotto. It’s no kidding since the robot is approx. 5’3” in height, weighing just over 66 pounds and an 11.7 BMI. It’s perfectly movable as 16 joints and a motorized cylinder make it catwalk on the ramp. Surprising though, Manekin can be controlled via PC, a remote control or a cell phone. The robot can move itself by means of an SD card with pre-saved commands slotted into it. The only inadequacy I can see is the appearance that’s all cubic head and visible wires. It’s currently on sale in Japan for just $940 only, not that huge a cost for Tyra Banks…..Oops! Manekin Robotto.
