Man builds flight simulator that shoots water up to 25 meters

Not all grandchildren are as lucky as the Woudenberg’s.Christmas is around the corner, and Jacob Collins, 10 and his cousins Nick, 9, and Bridie Smith, 5, and Catherine Collins, 9, have a flight simulator of their own as a perfect Christmas present. Built for them by their grandfather Case Woudenberg, the contraption is all good to send their neighbors ablaze in envy.

The flight simulator, hand-built in about nine months by Case Woudenberg of Calliope, was inspired by a moving model plane. Built in plywood and painted in the colors of a US Naval aircraft, the simulator is controlled by a water pressure mechanism which helps the plane rise up to seven odd feet. Using a leaf blower motor for spinning and dipping, the plane with wheels and navigation lights also is fitted with a water gun that shoots up to 25 meters - I’m sure Jacob just loves this bit.

The single pilot seat is decked well in leather, while a joystick and foot pedals are in place to control the plane. A cross-hair on the windshield lets the pilot aim at his target, and splash them, and even I am wet in jealousy. Case will you build one of these for me?
