Low-Powered FM Transmitters Made Legal by Ofcom
Anupam | Dec 8 2006

The owners of low powered FM transmitters will now be able to legally use their devices to listen music from their portable media players on their in-car radios.

Ofcom has announced that today onwards it will be legal to use low-powered FM transmitters.

The law was enforced when Ofcom believed that these low-powered FM transmitters were enabling many persons to develop their own pirate radio stations.

Now since the law has been altered it will enable 100,000 iTrip owners to use their devices to stream audio from their iPod to their in-car radio receivers.

Graffin the makers of iTrip will not be the only company to benefit from this as other companies like Sonnet Technology, the makers of iFreq and GEAR4 the makers of PowerTrip FM car charger and transmitter will also be the beneficiaries.
