Lenovo IdeaPad Y650 the lightest and thinnest 16-inch notebook
Harshpaul | Jan 5 2009

Coming to CES, Lenovo’s Y-series consumer notebooks look smart and interesting. The new series has a 14-inch Y450, a 15-inch Y550 and finally the 16-inch Y650 notebooks. All devices have a 16:9 widescreen display, LED backlights, 1366×768 screen resolution, Blu-ray, up to 500GB of hard drive storage and 4GB DDR3 memory. And then there obviously are the usual functions you’d expect from a notebook.

The weird part, as Gizmodo points out, is that the 16-inch notebook is both lighter and thinner than the 14-inch and 15-inch versions, and somehow, all notebooks manage to have the same screen resolution. These notebooks will be available in March, with the Y450 and Y550 selling for $830, while the Y650 will go for $1200.
