JVC’s promise for July: World’ slimmest HDTV
Gagandeep | Jun 25 2008

How thin can they get seems to be the question that everyone’s asking, and well, the answer is 39mm. What is being referred to is the latest lineup of HD TVs from US-based JVC. Coming in July are the 42″ LT-421L89 and 46″ LT-46SL89 HDTVs, both measuring at the slimmest of 39mm and at max 74mm (at the panel’s center). Featuring built-in tuners and super 1920X1080p res, both the models are also touted to be power savers as compared to conventional LCD TVs. JVC developed its indigenous slim panel backlight unit and a power supply chassis to make possible this ultra-thin design. Among other features are: three HDMI inputs, two component inputs, one S-Video, a PC input, front touch sensor controls, a headphone jack, USB picture viewer and a universal remote control. The LT-42SL89 and LT-46SL89 will be available at approximate retail prices of $1,899.99 and $2,399.99, respectively. So in days’ time, guess what’s up on everyone’s shopping list?
