Jud’s bony take on the internal combustion engine is creepy

Oregon-based sculptor Jud Turner has a penchant for giving people goosebumps. His artwork is eerie, weird and more, much more. Using steel and found objects, he depicts the relationship between humans and machines in a manner quite typical of him. His latest creation tagged “Internal Combustion #2 - Bone Machine” is a wall hanging measuring 25″x 49″x 8″. This is Jud’s representation of our excessive dependence on internal combustion engines. Here’s his description of the piece:

Our whole way of being as modern people is predicated on this (internal combustion engine) technology. But I wanted the pieces to have a “jammed up” look, where they are impenetrably complex nonsense machines.

He exhorts us to remember the sculpture when we are stuck in a jam the next time. And to be frank, having looked at it how could one not? And more so if one has shelled out $3500, which is price of this freaky piece.
