Nokia has developed a tiny video conferencing robot, which would find out several methods to make our video conferencing more interactive and interesting at home. Called Jeppe, the home video conferencing robot puts a deep insight into the various facets of video communication tools and user’s reaction towards them. Loaded with video cameras, a digital compass and microphones, the tiny robot prompts more passive conferencing at home. It finds out necessary features to be incorporated into the existing PC webcams to make the conferencing more interesting. Jeppe is now under development. At present, it is controlled by Nokia N800 Internet Tablet using the pre-loaded set of six gestures to trigger movements. Nokia plans to control the robotic movements remotely via internet.
