Intel demos notebook prototype with four screens [W/Video]
Bharat | Sep 23 2009

Taking the grand stage at the IDF, Intel is out with mindboggling concepts, as expected. We’d herd Intel doing laptops, but that was only as real to us as the movies. Here but we’re awestruck with this multi-screen laptop concept from Intel.

Nothing new with the multiple screens, we’ve seen them in the Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds and the gScreen G400 notebooks, but what’s clearly exciting with the Intel notebook is the three OLED multitouch screens right below the main 15-inch screen. Code named the Tangent Bay, the laptop features these small touchscreens to show a variety of widgets, or the user can also use them to launch apps and organize information.

These small screens can be used individually or can also be synced (drag info) with the main screen, while navigation can be done both with the fingers and by using a mouse. The whole setup gives the concept notebook a larger form factor, but the entire things looks really appealing to the eye. Let’s wait and see how long this prototype takes to come real, or will it ever?
