Infra-Radio modifies heart rate and manipulates dreams
Alpheus | Sep 27 2008

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could decide what our dreams are going to be like on a particular night? Well, the Infra-Radio apparently does just that. It influences your dream patterns by modifying the heart rate. The low frequency device keeps track of your heart rate with the help of an infra-red pulse oximeter and communicates the information to a microchip. The chip processes the information and passes it on to a server, where an infra-bass pulse is generated. Subsequently, the pulse is used to modify the heart rate.

What’s Innovative: Since we always believed our dreams are brain-triggered, it does come as a surprise that the Infra-Radio reaches out to your subconscious through the heart. Practicality, though, would remain a result-based assessment.

Watch This: Any gizmo that influences the subconscious is curiosity-evoking. Since the Infra-Radio claims to “design your dream activity,” we are indeed waiting to see how the final product turns out. Watch the video for a demo.

Designer: Cesar Harada has designed the Infra-Radio as part of his first-year technology project.
