Almost a year ago HTC revealed their UMPC named Shift. It was scheduled for November 2007 but now it’ll be available from online seller Expansys 19 February onwards, without any contract, for $1720. It is also rumored that Orange will get Shift’s own-brand version by March but there are no announcements to confirm that yet. And it’s supposedly going to be without voice plans for those who opt for Orange’s version (if it comes). It is massively priced for an oversized Pocket(?) PC or maybe it’s an UMPC with phone capabilities (just suit yourself). But it’s got some cool engine running under the hood, with 1.2 GHz processor accompanied by 1 GB of DDR2 memory and a cool 30 GB hard drive it’s set to blow geek brains with enough dough.
As of now, Expansys’ offer is the only thing that will woo Europeans, but, maybe by March there will be an option available.
